Flats vs Plates

Often we are asked about the difference between flat and plate products? Structurally there is very little difference between the two; the fundamental difference is down to size. If the product is more than 8 inches wide, it is considered to be a plate product. If it is less than 8 inches wide, then it is considered to be a flat bar product.
